Pet Policy
We love our animals – our horses, our goats, and our dogs – and we encourage people to bring these four-legged members of the family with them on vacation. So many places ask you not to bring your pets, or else penalize you for taking them along. Our home is your home while you’re here, and that goes for your animals as well.
Our property offers sixty beautiful acres for your pets to run around freely on. The cliffs looking down on the ocean are unfenced, and although we’ve never had an accident with pets, it’s probably a good idea to keep an eye on them. The property is also not tightly fenced along the road, so if your pets tend to run if they see interesting things, we recommend you keep them on a leash to make sure they don’t run out into the highway.
Because of the cleaning costs associated with pets, we do have a simple $50.00 charge for each pet.
Child Policies
Children of all ages are very welcome at the Elk Guest House. One of the first sights often seen when pulling in is Gigi, our 30 year old Morgan mare, and she sets an immediate tone of friendliness. Another favorite with children of all ages is our 100' swing. The huge arc it carves through the air creates a wonderful feeling that reminds one of Maxfield Parrish.
Kite flying is a timeless joy for children of all ages. If you don’t have a kite to bring with you, worry not – they’re sold locally at every market. With just the littlest bit of luck you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime as your child's heart soars aloft alongside their kite on the steady onshore breezes.
Both cottages have pianos for the musically minded, and DVD players, CD players, and free Wireless Internet for those more technologically focused.
And of course, the miles of trails and beautiful scenery are a virtual wonderland for children. The hardest part is finding the time to explore even a fraction of the magic waiting just outside your cottage.

Other Policies
Cancellation
The Elk Guest House is a small, family-owned lodging, and as such we are not able to be as flexible as some larger hotels with cancellations. Because we never overbook, and have only three lodgings, we cannot accept cancellations with anything less than a three-week advance warning. With a three-week warning we can refund your deposit, less a processing fee of $100 per night.
Rates
Rates range from $95-$300 per night, with a two-night minimum stay.
Deposit
A deposit is required upon making the reservation. Full payment is expected no less than one month prior to arrival.
Children and Pets
Children of all ages and pets of all sizes are welcome. $50 cleaning charge for each pet (no additional charge for the children).
